Big Walnut Middle School Honors Veterans in Galena Cemetery or Community Service |

| Twelve students and teacher Ed Kitchen volunteered
to help Big Walnut Area Historical Society continue to identify
veterans in the Big Walnut area cemeteries.
B.W.A.H.S. members Suzanne Allen, Warren Owen and Polly Horn found the graves which Suzanne and Warren researched. Gene Fuller and Dan Shaw of American Legion Post #457 provided flags and holders, students read about the soldier's service at each grave. Jane Jackson read her late husband, Paul Jackson's military record and a tribute from Linda Hamilton Paul daughter of veteran Warren Hamilton. Chuck Stone's granddaughter read his tribute. Alice Chapan and David Simmons of the historical society and John Bland of Galena Heritage Foundation were also present. |
