Methodist
Episcopal Church in Condit |
||||
According to Baskins in the 1880 History of
Delaware County and Ohio, page 593, a group of Old School
Presbyterians organized a society and built a church in Trenton township
but they sold out to the Methodists and built Mount Pleasant Methodist
Episcopal Church in Porter Township. Note the two front doors, one for men and one for women to enter. At some time the doors were removed and a center door was added. |

Sitting on a hill on Condit Road in Porter Township, the Mt. Pleasant Church, is still in good shape although it could use a coat of paint. I remember going there for socials and to see the church women make applebutter in the fall. The Mt. Pleasant Cemetery wraps around the church. | ||||
