May 10, 2016 . . . .

Picture above is the south side of the square and the north side of the square.  The middle photo is from Jeff Sellers, the bottom one from Red Edwards.

Polly Horn will share photos from scenes around Sunbury Village Square at the Big Walnut Area Historical Society meeting at 7:30 Tuesday, May 10th,  in the Myers Inn Meeting room.

Using old photos from The Sunbury News files and many other sources, Horn originally had a collection of slides she took to clubs and actual photos she carried and shared with groups as they walked around the square.   This became an annual 3rd grader field trip until the classes became too large to hear over the trucks.  The slides were converted to a powerpoint show which Horn now takes to the schools.

This is part one of two programs featuring Sunbury for its 200th birthday.  The second will feature building beyond the public square and be shown in July. Each program is about 45 minutes long.
