Gallogly, Sgt. Vernor, 1926-2011. Served 1944- June 1946 in Army Air Force during WWII. He served as full gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress out of England, crew members were like brothers. Later served as Supply Officer in Florida with 2 WACs working for him. When given a Certificate of Commendation, his commanding officer said, “ In view of the fact that the rating of outstanding does not adequately reflect the great amount of work already expended by the sergeant concerned, this office wishes to commend the sergeant in charge for his diligence.” | |||
