In 1932, Gerald and Alta Crowl bought this store in the building owned by the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge Hall in Olive Green.  They raised five children in Olive Green:  Kenneth, Joan, Jean, Linda and James.

Crowls continued to operate a store here until they built their home and market across the street on the south east corner of State Route 656 and 521.  Alta continued running the store after Gerald's death in 1994.  Alta died in 2004.
